Jungle Rapids Night

Please join your MCW PTA for a night filled with fun and exciting games for the kids at Jungle Rapids from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 25th!  They only charge $12 per participating child and half of that comes back to the school PTA for our children!  Please contact the PTA at mcwpta@yahoo.com with any questions.  We look forward to a great turnout and will post pictures after!  Thank you for your involvement!

This is our first year with a uniform policy.  We have tie dye shirts, which Savannah is modeling on her first day of school.

Welcome Interim Principal Conklin!

Dear Red Hawk Families,

I am honored to introduce myself to you as the newly appointed Interim Principal of Mary C. Williams Elementary School.  I possess over 23 years educational experience spanning grades K-8. My most recent experience has been shaped by seven years of success as an Assistant Principal for New Hanover County Schools.  I am anxious to bring my experience as an educational leader to Mary C. Williams Elementary School and to work with you as a partner in your child’s education.

I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by Mrs. Stone, building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and our community. We will focus on fostering a nurturing and safe environment for children, the use of data to plan instruction, and implement strategies to increase your child’s excitement for learning.

Mrs. Vickers and I, along with our wonderful staff, anticipate a very successful year. It is my hope that we will all work together to provide our students with the best possible opportunities, preparing them to be ready to master the challenges of the 21^st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school. 
My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to discuss any suggestions or ideas to help make this a great year!

Scooters Family Skate Night

 "Scooters Family Skate Night" of the year!

Tonight's theme is "Glitter and Glow", so

 wear your most Glittery or Glowing clothing and/or

  accessories!

Come out to have some fun & support your school!

Door Prizes will be given out to the first 50 students!

Garden Groundbreaking

Saturday, September 15th was a beautiful and successful day, THANKS to the families and faculty that came out to help build the Mary C. Willliams Community Garden! 

Don't worry if you missed out, there is plenty more FUNwork to be done.  We will meet every other week to continue our campus beautification and garden work.  We will alternate meeting on Fridays after school 2:30pm-6pm and on Saturday mornings from 8am-10am.  The next Garden Team Days will be Friday, September 28th after school and Saturday, October 13th in the morning.
