Volunteer Opportunities

There are many volunteer opportunities at
Mary C. Williams Elementary. If you are interested in volunteering and have not been contacted please contact us and we will schedule you right away. Volunteers are always welcome at MCW. 

Volunteer opportunities currently available are:

• In my child’s classroom:  Set aside an hour a week, or an hour a month, or keep an ear out for special events and field trips.
• Book Fair:  Setting up, sales and breaking down. October 12th - 16th, and again in the Spring.
• Community Garden:  Facilitating and participating in Garden maintenance. Plant a tree and help build our Garden!
• Collecting Box Tops/Campbell’s labels:  Collecting tops and labels from classrooms, then counting and bundling them.  There will be three opportunities to help with this project this year!
• Campus Clean-Up:  Cleaning and maintaining our campus to create a beautiful space for our students and families.
• Updating the Marquee:  Changing the signs in our Marquee as needed.  You could sign up for a week or month to fill this need.
• Math or Reading Tutor Helping one or more Red Hawks soar to their fullest potential in math or reading!
• Yearbook:  Planning, prepping and selling our MCW Yearbook are all opportunities available for families to help with.
• Fall Festival:  Setting up, manning activity stations, donating prizes, serving food, and more will all be opportunities to help make our Festival it’s very best for our Red Hawk Family!     November 6th, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
• Teacher Appreciation Week:  Help our teachers know how much we care about them by donating gifts and/or food.  Setting up special events would also be a great way to participate.
• Scooter's Skate Nights:  Decorating and Chaperoning Scooter’s Skate Night.  Held quarterly, first date is October 29 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
• Library:  Shelving books, cleaning, working with our school librarian as needed.

Tell us your special talents or if your able to donate items for special events!!!

We are in need of several volunteers interested in heading a PTA committee. Not all volunteers who head a committee have to work during school hours. Several positions can be ran from home during the day or in the evenings after school or work. If you are available you can contact us by email at mcwpta@yahoo.com.
