Welcome Back Red Hawks!

Welcome to a new school year at Mary C. Williams! The PTA is excited about the up coming school year, and hope that you are too. We would like to invite you to join us in our efforts to make this school year a fun and successful one.

Last year our PTA Provided the school with our new marquis, placed 2228 books into our students hands through our book fairs, and continued our traditions of hosting skate night, sponsoring the yearbook, organizing teacher appreciation week, Red Hawk Idol and the multitude of activities at the end of the school year.

To continue those traditions, this year our PTA goals include building the Mary C. Williams Community Garden, and starting a Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) Program. Our most important goal is building a welcoming, supportive Red Hawk family at Mary C. Williams. With this goal in mind we are pleased to introduce Red Hawk Restaurant. Every other month, PTA will host a dinner and event at the school. Our first night will be October 16th for a Math Make and Take and Spaghetti Dinner. A plate will include spaghetti, salad, bread, cookie and Drink for only $5.00. More information and a reservation card will be sent home in early October.

We would like to invite you to join us for any of our monthly meetings. When you are a PTA member you are eligible to vote in all PTA business. Meetings will be held on the second monday of each month, starting September 10th. We will meet at 2:45pm in the reading room in the main office. Even if you are unable to attend we welcome your questions, comments and suggestions--Email them to mcwpta@yahoo.com

By joining the PTA and taking part in PTA activities you are not only showing support of Mary C. Williams, you are helping to improve your child's school experience. Please join us in making a POSITIVE DIFFERENCE in the lives of all our children.

"The African proverb "It takes a village to raise a child" summed up for me the commonplace conclusion that, like it or not, we are living in an interdependent world where what our children hear, see, feel, and learn will affect how they grow up and who they turn out to be......."
